EXHIBITION OPENS - 10 JUNE 2022 5 – 8PM LAST DAY – 2 JULY 2022
Defrag, the 2022 Art and Design degree show exhibition represents the culmination of three years of undergraduate study by students of Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing Communication, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography and Product Design. The work exhibited here indicates the breadth of possibilities within Art and Design practice and represents the diversity of approaches generated, researched and implemented by these graduating students.
This is the cohort of students who have perhaps been impacted upon the most by the circumstances and restrictions of the pandemic. This exhibition evidences, through their work, that they have not only grappled with that situation but have emerged successfully through it whilst maintaining an impressive level of academic and visual integrity.
They should take confidence from attaining this position in those circumstances. They will find themselves through that experience equipped to successfully engage with their future, irrespective of what it may hold.
This is the cohort of students who have perhaps been impacted upon the most by the circumstances and restrictions of the pandemic. This exhibition evidences, through their work, that they have not only grappled with that situation but have emerged successfully through it whilst maintaining an appropriate level of academic and visual integrity.
They should take some confidence from attaining this position in those circumstances. They will find themselves through that experience equipped to successfully engage with their future, irrespective of what it may hold.
These students, who commenced their studies in September 2019, have maintained their integrity, their enthusiasm, their drive and their aspirations both in to, and out of a pandemic. Here they importantly bring their tangible work into an actual space. This exhibition marks both an end to this particular academic adventure and the start of the next phase of their trajectory. They emerge from the University equipped with a range of skills and experiences, ideas and aspirations that will stand them in good stead for whatever the future will bring to them.
